The University of Wyoming's American Studies Department's Historic Preservation class in Fall 2013 started a campaign to identify and begin appreciating mid-century buildings throughout Laramie and the state of Wyoming.
Alexander's Jewelry; Spic and Span Laundromat; Dodd's Bootery; the UW Classroom Building. These are just a few of the hundreds of buildings built in Laramie in the decades after World War II. With their modernist designs that broke with architectural tradition, these buildings reflect optimism about the future and fascination with the possibilities of technology.
A big thank you to everyone who came out to the Moose Lodge in Laramie to support our presentation and work throughout the semester!
